Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) systems are used as a method of smoke ventilation in many large premises as a way of ensuring emergency exit routes are free of smoke to aid the safe evacuation of those occupying the building at the time. With control panels, smoke detectors and call points installed, when the system is activated, the vent, window or roof light is then activated to open automatically.

Our range includes the control panels, call points and detectors which are suitable for replacing components of an existing system or as part of a new system installation. We have also put together a kit which includes all of the essentials, including the glazed vent unit itself with actuators.

AOV smoke ventilation systems are often found in the stairwells and corridors in tower blocks and large building. These can then be connected to fire alarm and building management systems for greater control and enhanced reliability.
