Manual Call Points

Manual fire alarm call points should be installed on all business and public premises. They allow occupants of the building to trigger the fire alarm system, should they discover fire before the detector.

In line with the latest BS 5839-6 fire recommendations, fire alarm call points should be easily located on each floor. They should also be no higher than 1.4 metres from the floor. This ensures the device can be reached by the majority of passers-by, including those in wheelchairs.
