What is the best barrier post for outdoor use?

For regular outdoor use, you'll need a weather-proof material that is sturdy and durable.

Our high-visibility post and base kits have the option of red and white or yellow and black for safe and clear marking. The posts are made with corrosion-resistant recycled PVC, with heavy-duty plastic bases that can be filled with water or sand for added security in windy conditions. The plastic 6mm chain is also suitable for all weathers and is supplied in ideal 5-metre sections.

Alternatively, our retractable barrier posts come with heavy-duty concrete bases with a total post and base weight of 7.5 kg – ideal for a more permanent solution.

What height should a temporary barrier be?

There are no set regulations on how tall a temporary barrier should be, however, the majority are between 850 mm and 1000 mm in height. A post or barrier that is too tall would appear overwhelming and unnecessary, whereas being too short could compromise safety and defeat the ultimate purpose of putting them in place. At around 3 feet tall, our posts are the optimum height to comfortably manage crowds or queues, with the average adult height being between 5’ 3” and 5’ 9”, depending on gender.

Do I need permission to install a folding parking post?

Parking posts help to stop unwanted visitors from parking in your designated space. They are also commonly used to deter vehicle thieves.

If you wish to install your parking bollard or post on your own private land, you do not need to seek permission to do so. For rented properties or business leased premises, you would need permission from your landlord or the land owner. For council-owned land, you would need to seek advice from your local authority on their current rules surrounding parking post installation.

Many parking posts on the market require cementing into the ground, which can be a big risk. Our posts are easily secured using bolts and are made from heavy-duty steel which is corrosion-resistant and weather-proof. The integral cylinder lock ensures it stays in the upright position until unlocked using one of the three supplied keys.
