Smoke alarms carry out one of the most important tasks in your home. They keep you and your family safe, always checking for signs of a fire, ensuring you have plenty of time to act and evacuate in the event of a fire, day and night.
They’re a necessity. But that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice good looks, and nor does it mean you have to spend a fortune. Cavius have changed the world of alarms with their designs. So let us introduce you to the smallest smoke alarm in the world…
Designed in Denmark, with a research and development team based in the UK, they are producing advanced alarms in tiny packaging. And don’t worry, they conform to all of the relevant standards.
It’s no wonder then that Cavius has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award three times. And this tiny innovation all started when they introduced a travel alarm and utilised this technology to create a small and attractive alarm.
At just 40mm in diameter, who wouldn’t mind one of these on their ceiling?
What Can These Smoke Alarms Do?
Our micro smoke alarms work exactly the same as any other alarm, despite their size. They have a hush and test button for silencing and testing, an LED condition indicator, and a thirty-day low battery warning.
With a loud siren capable of reaching eighty-five decibels, there is no excuse for not hearing one of these when they’re activated. The smoke alarm takes an optical reading every eight seconds in order to check for the presence of smoke. And with a heat alarm also available, these activate when temperatures reach 58°C and above.
Plus, you have the choice between a long-life battery version capable of lasting ten years, and a replaceable five-year battery.
Simple to install, these are ideal to have in any home.
How About Going Wireless?
Generally, when you want to have wirelessly interconnected alarms, you have no choice but to choose a mains-powered smoke alarm. Often, this will require an electrician to come and install safely.
However, Cavius have also added interconnectable battery wireless alarms to their already ground-breaking range. As a result, these are almost as easy to install as an ordinary alarm as they connect together at the push of a button. And when one alarm activates, all of those connected will sound their siren.
Slightly larger at 65mm in diameter, you can connect up to thirty-two Cavius alarms together. Their range includes an optical smoke alarm, a heat alarm, a flood alarm, and a remote. Fitted to the floor, the flood alarm will alert you at the first sign of a leaking pipe or flood water into a basement.
And with the remote, you can control the alarm system from the comfort of your chair or bed. Magnetic for you to handily keep anywhere, it also vibrates to act as an additional warning system to an alarm activation.
Smoke Alarm With Built-In Light Fitting
The Cavius wireless range also includes a mains-powered optical smoke alarm which can double as a pendant light fixing. Installed into your lighting circuit, this cleverly reduces the number of installation points. And as a result, you have effective fire protection without cluttering your ceiling, even fitting nicely within a ceiling rose.
However, installing with a light is optional, and can work as an ordinary mains-powered alarm. With all the required fixing points inside the alarm, you simply drill out the hole for the lamp wire to pass through.
With the complete Cavius range of unobtrusive smoke alarms, there is something suitable for every home.
