The Underground Hydrant Valve provides a water delivery point at which the Fire and Rescue Services can connect their hoselines in the event of an emergency. This is achieved via a standpipe which is screwed to the Underground Hydrant Valve. The hose is then attached at the standpipe outlet and a Key and Bar is used to open the Hydrants valve to allow water flow.
The hydrant stem is stainless steel and has a cast iron stem cap. The outlet is via a 2½” London round thread in gunmetal to BS750 and the inlet is of a proprietary flange type.
The Series 29/288 exceeds the flow requirements: Kv= 92 minimum, 2000 litres per minute / Kv= 101 maximum, 2200 litres per minute and has an auto frost drain as standard and draining stopper.
