Secure Parking with Heavy-Duty Folding Parking Posts

In addition to metal bollards and hoop barriers, we carry folding parking posts that can be used to reserve parking spaces, deter vehicle theft, and block entry to restricted areas. Constructed from heavy-duty steel, they feature reflective stripes that ensure they are highly visible. We recommend installing our folding parking posts to tarmac or concrete surfaces.

Can I put up a parking bollard?

In the UK, you can usually install a parking bollard on your own private property without planning permission. However, if the bollard is near public paths, in conservation areas, or outside your property boundary, you must get local council approval. Always check before installation to ensure compliance and safety.

Will a bollard stop a car?

Not all bollards are designed to stop a vehicle. In the UK, certain bollards are tested and certified to British Standards such as PAS 68 or BS EN 12767, which confirm their ability to withstand vehicle impacts. These high-security bollards can significantly slow or even stop a car, helping protect buildings and pedestrians.

However, many bollards – including the ones we supply – are primarily intended for traffic control, access management, or marking boundaries rather than crash protection. Ours aren't tested or certified. If you specifically need bollards that can stop a vehicle, then keep an eye out for those with the relevant Standards.

What are the costs to install a parking bollard?

In the UK, the cost to install a parking bollard breaks down into several parts:
- Material
- Labour and installation
- Additional factors: Costs rise with more complex installations, such as hard surfaces, underground utilities, automatic or electric bollards, and drainage needs.

Overall, installation costs typically range from £200 to £600 for manual bollards, while advanced electric or automated models can cost £900 to over £4,000 including installation. These prices can vary due to location, bollard type, ground conditions, and the number of bollards installed, so always obtain a local quote for accuracy.
