Designed to ensure new cable installations are compliant with the new standards, the 18th Edition large cable clips are designed for larger diameter cables and will even hold conduits. The black SuperClip is available in a range of sizes to suit all cable/conduit sizes between 12 and 25mm, including grouped and armoured cables. Designed to securely hold a heavy cable even during a fire, a pack of 25 clips ensures you have plenty.
Now a requirement for ALL cable installations to be fire resistant, and no longer just fire alarm wiring or cables along escape routes, these clips have been designed to prevent firefighter deaths caused by entrapment from falling overhead cabling. It is essential that electrical cable installers are up to date with new regulations as they are ultimately responsible.
How Do The Fire Cable Clips Work?
The fastest fire-rated cable clip to install, and three times faster to install than traditional methods, these require less drilling and zero screwing.
To install, drill a 10mm diameter hole with a 40mm depth, slide the fire clip over the cable or conduit so it is seated in the rounded area, compress the clip together, and then simply insert into the hole by hand. And because each clip features several ‘teeth’ for advanced grip, the clip and cable are securely held in place no matter what happens.
It’s recommended these are installed every 300mm along a cable and is suitable for brick, concrete, masonry, blockwork, stone, wood and plasterboard.
Manufactured by Linian, the large SuperClip can boast numerous approvals. Compliant with the requirements of BS 8519:2010 and meeting the recommendations for Fire Rated Cable Fixings BS7671 Amendment 3, the clips have a melting point of over 1000°C. 90-minute and 120-minute fire resistance in accordance with DIN4102-12 and BSEN50200, the clips are smoke emission tested to London Underground Standard and resist tensile loads equal to 44kg, meaning it could actually hold two bags of cement.
