The major benefit of this is that it means you can use the extinguisher in temperatures as low as -9 degrees Centigrade (with an ordinary extinguisher temperatures around 0 degrees Centigrade could potentially result in the internal lining of the extinguisher being damaged).

There are both 6 and 9 litre extinguishers with the antifreeze built in. What you choose depends on the environment you are in. For your own garage, a smaller model is appropriate whereas for industrial or business premises a larger model may be necessary.

In short, fire safety is an important concern, but it is also equally important to be aware of how your extinguishers are being stored and how to make sure that they are ready if and when you need to use them as this could make all the difference in an emergency situation.
