What are the best fire nozzle types?

There are various types of fire nozzle, all with slightly different purposes and intensities. Lever-operated fire nozzles and long pattern fire nozzles are the most well-known and ideal for general fire fighting, plus washdowns and dust suppression. Diffuser nozzles – also known as short pattern nozzles – are brilliantly versatile offering both jet and spray patterns.

Curtain fire nozzles are also multifunctional and can be used for jet spraying and heat shielding via the water curtain option. For ultimate protection against heat, sparks, smoke and gasses, you'll need a hydroshield nozzle. They create a large waterfall which is used to shield against heat whilst fighting a fire.

Hose reel nozzles are made to order and provide powerful, long-range precision. H500 hose reel nozzles are typically used with high-pressure hose reel tubing used by the fire service. The turbo hose reel nozzle uses a high volume flow to ensure the maximum volume of water reaches the end of the flow with minimal water ‘drop-out’.

What’s the difference between fire nozzles and branch pipes?

Fire nozzles and branch pipes are essential fire equipment and used alongside one another. Whilst they are closely linked, they are separate components. A branch pipe helps to control the water flow and direction as it enters the nozzle. Fire nozzles can be either connected onto a branch pipe, or directly onto the hose.
