As with all of this designer range, our chrome 6kg powder extinguisher is made from highly polished stainless steel and has an impressive 34A 183B C fire rating. This makes it suitable for marine use as, unlike standard extinguishers that are made from mild steel, it will not corrode. Also, it is filled with a high-grade multi-purpose powder that fights any fire except for fires involving flammable metals. This extinguisher range is very popular with both architects and designers.

 

Suitable for designer-look premises with many many different fire risks or where a corrosive atmosphere is present

 

The updated British Standard 5306-8:2012 Selection and positioning of portable fire extinguishers – Code of Practice states as follows.

"5.4.3 Use of powder extinguishers The discharge of a powder extinguisher within buildings can cause a sudden reduction of visibility and can also impair breathing, which could temporarily jeopardize escape, rescue or other emergency action. For this reason, powder extinguishers should generally not be specified for use indoors, unless mitigated by a health and safety risk assessment."
