Vigil’s Chrome 1kg Powder Fire Extinguisher is a sleek and subtle firefighting tool that will almost go unnoticed in your home or other design-conscious premises. Despite its size, it offers an impressive 8A 34B C fire rating, which gives it coverage against the most common types of fire: classes A, B, and C.  

Due to its affordability and flexibility, 1kg powder extinguishers are popular in just about any context, being ideal for domestic use and favoured by independent tradesmen. They are also easy to install on the inside of a vehicle, so they are great for private transport services too. 

The Chrome 1kg Powder has a 5-year warranty, and is CE Marked too, but cannot bear other approvals due to its colour scheme. Apart from that, it is made in the same way as our standard red options. So if you want compact and effective firefighting power in a visually appealing container, then this is the right choice for you.

Suitable for designer-look premises with many different fire risks or where a corrosive atmosphere is present

The updated British Standard 5306-8:2012 Selection and positioning of portable fire extinguishers – Code of Practice states as follows:

"5.4.3 Use of powder extinguishers The discharge of a powder extinguisher within buildings can cause a sudden reduction of visibility and can also impair breathing, which could temporarily jeopardise escape, rescue or other emergency action. For this reason, powder extinguishers should generally not be specified for use indoors, unless mitigated by a health and safety risk assessment."

Types of fire include Class A (wood, paper, cloth, etc), B (flammable liquids), C (gas - but never put out a gas fire if the gas cannot then be turned off) and safe around live electrical equipment
