As you would expect, our BSPT Air Release Valves function to release air in the pipeline of fire fighting systems, including dry risers, wet risers, hose reel systems and sprinklers. The air release valve opens automatically against internal pressure being too high when the system is initially charged with water. Once the air pressure has been released, the vent hole is then sealed by a rubber ball within the valve that is pushed upwards to seal the vent hole as it fills with water. This ensures you have a strong and consistent flow of water when you need it most.
Manufactured of brass in accordance with BS5041 for Vigil Products, the air release valve is available with a tapered BSPT thread Male 25mm (1 inch) or 19mm (¾ inch) inlets .
