The 1.2m x 1.8m Fire Blanket from Thomas Glover is an effective solution for dealing with small kitchen fires. You’ll find these in small commercial and workplace kitchens, workshops and houses and the like. At this size, the blanket is adequate for tackling cooking fires, but can also serve as an effective barrier against these fires for a person by wrapping it around their clothing.

The blanket is supplied in a hard case with dual straps for wall hanging and easy to follow printed instructions on its exterior. The blanket itself is made of satin weave that is silicone-coated on both sides. With a 12-month warranty and testing in accordance with BS EN 2019, as well as being kitemarked, you can be assured of this fire blankets suitability for its job.

The blanket is secured within the pouch with Velcro fastening, and can be released by simply pulling down on the tabs. To use it, the blanket must be unfolded fully and carefully placed over the flame while holding the pull tabs. Once applied, the blanket smothers the fire, preventing further spread and starving it of oxygen until it burns out.

Special Note: Beware of cheap, untested fire blankets sold on marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay. They often state "C E Standard: 1869-2019" near the top and "Made in P.R.C." near the bottom. Some of these may burn through or actually catch fire when used.
