Sometimes, a big red fire extinguisher is not what you want to stand against decor or design. In these situations a "chrome fire extinguisher" may be your perfect partner.
In fact they are not chrome fire extinguishers at all. They are manufactured from high grade stainless steel and, with the Fire Protection Online range, are polished using specialist equipment to look like chrome. They look almost beautiful.
The CO2 or carbon dioxide models are made from aluminium and that makes them difficult to polish to a high chrome finish. But, take a look at one of our chrome CO2 fire extinguishers and compare. Again, out special process makes others look like they've been polished with sandpaper!
Where Is The Kitemark?
But, beauty always seems to be accompanied with problems and, as stainless steel fire extinguishers are not red, they cannot claim to be manufactured in accordance with BS EN3. BS EN 3-7:2004, Part 16.1 requires 95% of the body to be red).
So, is this a problem?
The stainless steel fire extinguisher has been manufactured for many years and we sell more today than before the BS EN3 came into being! By law, extinguishers must have the CE Mark (Pressure Equipment Directive). BS EN3 is, technically, a recommendation and, as our extinguishers are made with exactly the same components as the red ones that pass all the BSEN3 Kitemark tests, they are generally accepted.
Can We Still Use Stainless Steel Fire Extinguishers?
Both Chubb Fire and Amerex of the USA still sell thousands upon thousands all over the UK and elsewhere - but for many times the price of ours!
You may be considering that, if it "blends in", it may not be seen when needed. An extinguisher sign should always mark the location and, why not go the whole hog and hang them on one of our equally beautiful chrome stands?
Money Saving Uses
Designer appeal is not the only advantage of stainless steel. They are corrosion resistant.
Fire extinguishers in swimming pools, spas, seaside and marine locations are subject to chlorine and sea-salt attack. They rust and corrode quickly, no matter how good the epoxy powder-coating.
A stainless steel extinguisher will outlast standard models and protect your assets for longer, saving you money.
You will not find a wider range of "chrome" fire extinguishers than at Fire Protection Online. Why not add designer fire protection to your premises?
